Miss Jaynes Ceramics
My concentration is in ceramics, both handbuilt and wheel thrown. I fell in love with ceramics because of the physicality of it as well as the utility. I could make something useful and aesthetically pleasing. Ceramics can be very challenging for me because it requires a lot of dedication and patience. Some days I make a lot of mud.
I work at a community studio, cleaning firing kilns, and assisting for the kids department. It’s a lot of work, but satisfying. I spend many hours there throughout the week. The studio is apart of an art community, with a gallery attached. There are often many events, fundraisers, openings, and parties.
