Prodigy of Mobb Deep and Alchemist At The Shrine

Prodigy of Mobb Deep and Alchemist At The Shrine last night was one of our favorite shows at the Shrine and our first visit there for the new year. Not only did we arrive, not have to wait in line in the freezing cold but we also ran into alot of people who support what we do. The show started off with Rude One & Pumpin Pete killin the sound selection on the wheels. Anytime we see these two rockin’ a set we are taking notes mentally on the techniques pun intended. We didn’t know they extended the stage onto the bar this was a good call on the Shrines part indeed.(such an odd stage layout) The party became verbally live when Dirty Mf took the stage to do his thing. If you know how Dirty does its not much to explain he had us buggin up though. This guy was free styling about everything under the sun and at one point took a seat to sit and just kick some rhymes on stage.

Mass Hysteria hit the stage with well known beat-boxer Gq Tha Teacha and got the crowd amped as they performed their chosen songs dropping lines like….

“Ya see we grew up on Wu-Tang, I feel bad for these kids, they’re growin’ up on TWO CHAINZ!”
“I drink away the pain it’s on to the next, after this you can catch me sellin’ merch when I’m not drunk textin’ my ex!”
I’m out yall, “I gotta use the bathroom and take a Chi-Town Shit!”

The last line is how you exit a set pure genius! Mass Hysteria brings a certain level to a show that many could learn from.

Dirty MF returned to the stage & as he is doing his lyrical thing Mr Greenweedz comes on stage to rock with him. The alternate of power onstage between Soiled & Mr. Greenweedz was once are living as hell and saved the momentum going for the headliner(s). Following these two got here Alchemist performing a are living DJ set the usage of his personal beats. We won’t entrance some songs we did not understand have been Alchemist which made the set a deal with in itself. The lights round him although was once the worst so we felt rather handled on the photographs we tried to seize (see the video). Alchemist killed his set and ready everybody for Prodigy like an actual dj must. By the point Prodigy got here out the ground used to be packed, the vibe was once stable, nothing had jumped off all in all a good time to this point. As Prodigy hits the stage the vitality stage went manner up within the room and the gang went balistic for the principle performer. It used to be bizarre now not seeing Havoc up there with him however whats up it’s what it’s. Although we had get right of entry to to the stage, which was once very crowded via this time we opted to face within the packed ground and shoot/benefit from the convey. Prodigy got here with it and we dipped after four songs to keep away from the exit muddle.

As a number of native attendees put it…

“Yeah Impolite and Pumpin Pete killed it, Mass Hysteria tore it down. Soiled MF and Mr Greenweedz fed of every different and went in, and Prodigy & Alchemist closed it out with a dope efficiency. That used to be one of the most best possible displays the Shrine has had. The sound device was once additionally on level.”-Mill Man

“Fingers down closing evening was once one of the vital easiest at The Shrine! Everybody used to be on level, Impolite Onederful, Dust Diggler, Mass Hysteria, Gq Tha Teacha, Prod & Alchemist ALL placed on a seminar!!!”-Legendary Pumpin Pete

If you happen to didn’t come out you neglected a flawless express filled with skill. The promoter(s) did a supreme job on this.

P.S. capturing at 135mm f2.eight handbook focal point in a bumpy crowd wasn’t straightforward! So share, watch the movies & like or tweet this put up.
